We are excited to announce the launch of our new Rogue Roast.
The Rogue Roast is a Fair Trade coffee from Honduras that is roasted magnificently dark. It is smooth, sweet, dynamic, and without the burnt roasty flavors associated with most dark coffees. Dark roasts are extremely difficult to roast well. Controlling gas pressure and airflow and making micro-adjustments along the entire roast profile is critical. It is a very mindful experience and one that takes focus and attention to detail.
We are calling it Rogue Roast as the trend in specialty coffee is to roast light and to bring out the flavors associated with the origin of the coffee. We figured since we are not following this trend, we are going ‘Rogue”. Interesting points are that this coffee shines at a darker roast and that many folks continue to ask us for a dark coffee. You know who you are and it is ok to own it.
